The ETF annual general meeting is being held in Ghent Belgium on Saturday 22nd November. Representative trainers from across Europe are meeting to discuss issues that affect trainers and training horses across Europe.
As always, the harmonisation of rules is a major talking point. Greater clarification on the different types of racing plates used across Europe is needed. A prime example of this would be that French trainers can't run horses without hind shoes in France but can in England. English trainers can run with "trailer" shoes in the UK but not in Ireland.
