The only person not shocked by Hero of Order’s half-length victory at odds of 109-1 in the $1-million Grade 2 Louisiana Derby at Fair Grounds on April 1 was the man who trains and owns him, Gennadi Dorochenko. “I know this horse can get around the distance,” Dorochenko said nine days later. “The jockey did exactly what I tell him. When he gets the lead in the stretch, 99 percent I knew he was going to win.”
